QuantumPM, INC, Launches Innovation Director 4.0, an Innovation Full Lifecycle Tool.

Englewood, CO, USA (PRBuzz.com) August 23, 2013 -- Today QuantumPM, Inc., announced the launch of the latest innovation tool, Innovation Director 4.0 (InnoD).

Innovation Director 4.0 (InnoD) is an easy to use, comprehensive, full life-cycle Innovation Platform solution that helps companies harness the creativity embodied in the people that know their business the best, their employees. InnoD gives companies a competitive advantage by giving them an affordable, scalable, and enterprise-grade tool and process to inspire, capture and convert ideas to new and or improved products and services. More than a crowd-sourcing tool, InnoD offers a full life-cycle solution that takes ideas from conception through socialization, ranking and evaluation, selection, and eventual execution. Selected ideas seamlessly feed into business case development and finally to portfolio and project management tools and processes.

With the new release of INNOD 4.0, QPM has added new features and benefits that include:
    • Advanced configuration features for Challenge Leaders and Admins
    • Run multiple challenges with numerous Challenge Leaders simultaneously
    • Seamless front and back end integration of the innovation and project process.
    • Configurable email notifications to all participants in the Challenge
    • In line rich text editing
    • Branding flexibility
    • CSS cross-browser compatibility

"Innovation Director is making the harvesting of innovative ideas a repeatable enterprise process and a new core function in companies. Companies must evolve in order to survive in today's dynamic high pressure ecosystem. Innovation Director is a solution that makes evolution a natural business process."
    -Kris Athey, CIO QuantumPM, Inc.

Early on, QuantumPM, Inc., understood that it was not enough to support an innovation collection and socialization mechanism. A tool relevant to business needs must move beyond the initial crowdsourcing function to true business management processes in an efficient and integrated manner. In light of that, the product was built to work either as a SaaS or on-premise solution. Recognizing the collaborative and document management features, QuantumPM chose to utilize Microsoft's SharePoint platform, one of the fastest growing collaboration platforms in companies today. This enables INNOD adoptees to exploit their current IT investment and software architecture. To complete the lifecycle for the Innovation Management tool, it also utilizes Microsoft's Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Solution (Project Server). This optional functionality represents the rigor and governance needed to manage the ideas once they have been promoted to projects for implementation and execution.

"Our view of the Innovation Life Cycle brings the FEI and BEI components into one continuous flow. Ideas move through a staged model to evolve from sparks of imagination to well-thought out possibilities and then progress to prototypes and eventually to full working products..." Rose Blackburn, CEO QuantumPM, Inc. Innovation Lifecycle Article, www.quantumpm.com

INNOD, and the core it is built on, is the culmination of years of experience working with companies to understand their needs, eliminate organizational and cultural barriers, and create an "innovation" culture.

The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/myansweredprayer was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

Author Johnson says about her experiences, "When you're sixteen, the last thing you want to hear your parents say is 'We're moving!' Yeah... Not just moving, this was from Ohio to Alabama; my world was turned upside down. In a desperate attempt to stay, I begged the Lord to change His mind, but if He wouldn't, I asked Him to please tell my why... Why I had to leave everything I knew to go to a place where I knew no one... But I never expected His answer to be so...amazing. That night, He sent me a dream, a dream that changed my life. I met my future husband and kids, found that my career was exactly what I wanted... this was the life and the man I'd always dreamed of.

I fell in love with Slate, and we promised that when it was over, we'd never stop looking for each other. I never wanted to wake up, but I did. Heartbroken, I realized things like that don't really happen... People don't meet in dreams. That morning, my mother showed me pictures of the house Dad had bought, and I nearly fell over; it was the house Slate and I visited my parents in... There's no logical way it's possible, but I couldn't deny the evidence right in front of me... He was real; the man I loved was real, and I was going to Alabama to find him..."

Every human being that has ever inhabited the earth wanted to know the reason why they were here. We are created in the image of God; therefore deep down inside we know that there is more to life than just living.

    * That one was created for greatness
    * That there is a life one was born to live
    * That no one or no thing is worth sacrificing one's purpose for
    * That one has the God factor working in one's life
    * That God respects and honors a plan
    * That true freedom eliminates excuses

    • If you had to sell the birthright for your life, would you know what it is?
    • Regarding the Devil, could we be the serpent in question?

Author Shaffer says, "666 Calculated takes on these and other subjects that will boggle the mind, stagger the imagination, defy conventional wisdom, challenge the status quo -- all the while remaining loyal to scripture."

(PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- Outskirts Press announces the latest highly anticipated visionary and metaphysical fiction from Owings Mills, MD, author E. L. Henry.

Denver, CO, and Owings Mills, MD - Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Blue Summer Moon: An Anthology of Short Stories, Plays, and Poetry by E. L. Henry. The author's most recent book to date is a 5.5 x 8.5 paperback in the visionary and metaphysical fiction category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/bluesummermoon was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

Blue Summer Moon is a carefully crafted anthology consisting of short stories, plays, and poems. The short stories and plays range in fictional genres from contemporary and urban to the paranormal and fantasy.

Each contains characters that are whimsical, lost and soul-searching, or living on the edge as describes the main character in the short story "Grizzabella" who is unable to grapple with circumstances inside a turbulent reality: "Anyone seeing me would have thought I'd been shot and like in the movies, my brain is waiting for the connection. When it does come, I may collapse where I stand or walk a few feet and fall then."

The plays in this anthology fuse the same story writing elements and there are a minimal set of requirements for each. For those drama teachers interested in casting a large number of students in a play, Dreams would be an ideal choice.

The poetry selection of poems written with the same purpose in mind - to inspire a common interest in love, hope, transformation and the ongoing quest to understand the meaning of existence.

(PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- Outskirts Press announces the latest highly anticipated family and relationships, love and romance book from Zion Crossroads, VA, author N. E. Lane.

Denver, CO, and Zion Crossroads, VA - Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Good Wife Gone Bad: The Fine Line Between Love and Hate by N. E. Lane. The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 paperback in the family and relationships, love and romance category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/GoodWifeGoneBad was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

Author Lane writes about her experience, "I heard that phrase many times throughout my marriage to Jim. 'Get a life' was his way of chastising me for being too dependent on him.... too needy. The irony of it was that I depended on him for very little. I learned early on that when I needed him most, he was unavailable. Each time he hurled those words at me, my response was always the same: 'Someday I will. And you won't be in it.' He didn't believe me. When I fell in love with Jim and accepted his marriage proposal, I told him my dream was to have an uncomplicated life, filled with the same passion and devotion that surrounded me throughout my childhood. I wanted my children to feel loved and protected so that one day they would look back and have fond memories of their own childhood. Jim assured me that he wanted that also. He promised me a life of love and affection, friendship and laughter. He lied."

Good Wife Gone Bad addresses serious social and emotional issues being dealt with in today's society: infidelity, emotional and verbal abuse, abortion, desertion and abandonment, rage issues, anxiety and panic disorders, post-partum depression, and divorce.

283 pages in length, Good Wife Gone Bad: The Fine Line Between Love and Hate is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the family and relationships, love and romance category. (PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- Outskirts Press announces the latest highly anticipated Caribbean and West Indies history book from Bentonville, AR, author E. Perez Santiago.

Denver, CO, and Bentonville, AR - Outskirts Press, Inc. has published The Noble One by E. Perez Santiago. The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 paperback in the Caribbean and West Indies history category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/thenobleone was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

With over fifty million Latinos living in the U.S., there is an immense need for positive information on the diverse Latino cultures and experiences from their own point of view. As a man of Puerto Rican descent who was able to break out of the impediments of life in the South Bronx during the sixties, Santiago has the biological component and the internal need to compassionately and accurately relay this story of a culture and a people made extinct and to tell of the difficulties, and humor, encountered in assimilation.

Many Latinos have felt the confusion living in a culture that makes little attempt to recognize the many positive things in their heritage. This book attempts to fill that void by providing a window from the cultural beliefs of a people to the urban experiences of a family attempting to assimilate into a new culture. The Noble One is a well-researched, historically accurate book which respectfully tells of the cultural beliefs and mythology of the pre-Columbian people from their point of view, accurately portraying the senseless extermination of a people by the European encounter. It concludes with the assimilation of their descendants in the 21st century.

This respectfully composed mixture of historic and biographical facts creates an appealing, humane story of generations of a family shattering the "macho culture" image of Latino society and offers a window to the softer and more accurate matriarch based culture. From its outward appearance, Brent Harbor epitomized a picturesque fishing village. However, it held terrifying secrets. Only one resident, an old drunk, knows why the grave yard at the edge of town was overflowing with bodies. Even though he cried wolf, no one listened, until a stranger arrived and demanded answers. It seemed the founding fathers of this tranquil hamlet had made a costly mistake, leaving the residents to pay the price. Daniel Rossi thought he had relocated to Brent Harbor to start a new venture. Little did he know, he'd been brought there by something sinister.

(PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- The Neanderthals' struggle for survival is complicated by harsh environs and competition from a superior race in The Last Neanderthal Clan.

Denver, CO, and Fairfax, VA - For centuries the robust Neanderthals dominated the northern European landscape, hunting, gathering and multiplying. With the arrival of the Cro-Magnon clans, the Neanderthal faced a new and more dangerous enemy that could threaten their very existence. Their plight is told in dramatic fashion in the newly released historical fiction, The Last Neanderthal Clan, published by Outskirts Press.

Tens of thousands of years ago, the earth is warming after a prolonged deep freeze and glaciers are melting. Rivers are flooded and mountain valleys are no longer filled with ice, allowing clans to travel to regions previously unexplored. These widely dispersed clans - Cro-Magnon, called northern clans, and Neanderthal, called southern clans - encounter each other in the exploration.

The most dominate among them, the Cro-Magnon clan called the Nord Clan, have developed traditions that encourage hunting and killing. Some northern clans resort to cannibalization. After Nord Clan leader, Carni, fathers a child with a Neanderthal woman and leaves the woman and child with her Neanderthal Clan, he leads his clan in search of Neanderthals in the quest to take slaves.

Later, it falls upon that Neanderthal child, Raka, to lead what remains of his clan on a quest for new hunting grounds and safety from the northern clans. Along the way, they must contend with the perils of the cave bear, wooly mammoth, the cave lion and threatening climate to eek out their survival.

The Last Neanderthal Clan can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of 10 or more from the Outskirts Press Direct bookstore at www.OutskirtsPress.com/bookstore. (PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- As part of a scholar-in-residence program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, between January and May 2013, Nik Nanos conducted energy policy research.

Canada and the US need to have a frank discussion on carbon policy and the environment, according to Nik Nanos.

The principal concept advanced in the paper is that the government should not pick energy winners and losers but focus on encouraging competition among energy sources within a common environmental standard. Also of note, decentralized sub-national environmental policy making on environmental, gridlock in Congress, and potential uncertainty in terms of the scope of recoverable energy resources should result in greater caution in favouring one energy source over another.

Promoting investment in a variety of technologies to recover and produce energy in an environmentally responsible manner will likely best minimize the long term energy and environmental policy risks.

The research also suggests that a comfortable majority of Americans support approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Please feel free to access the full report on the Wilson Center website. The findings and observations are based on a series of sources. These ranged from elite key consultation interviews with a variety of stakeholders in the United States, statistical data in the public domain on energy, media clippings, and original public opinion research among Americans and Canadians on energy issues.

White Haven Pa. (PRBuzz.com) August 27, 2013 -- Sylvia Lafair, PhD does it again! Her new website GUTSY WOMEN LEAD is filled with information for women leaders who are ready to make their mark on the world.

Her book, "GUTSY: How Women Leaders Make Change," (Infinity Publishing) has won four book awards including first place in the Paris Book Festival "how to "section, and Best Business Book to Read at the Beach 2013.

The website offers a place to learn about Dr. Lafair' s Programs, including the GUTSY WOMEN WEEKEND scheduled for November 1-3, 2013 at The Country Place Retreat and Conference Center in Northeastern Pa.

Lafair has been a business consultant and leadership expert for the past 30 years and has encouraged women to speak out and be heard in their work settings in ways that create collaboration with their male counterparts. Her GUTSY website is a companion to the Sylvialafair.com website where you can take the pattern aware quiz to find out what behavior patterns you learned as a child that you bring with you into the workplace.
Her unique experiential processes are both fun and energizing and she has made her mark on many women who have been promoted time after time using the tools and techniques they have learned in Dr. Lafair' s workshops.

"I would not have ever gotten to the position of President of my company without the specific understanding of behavior patterns in the workplace I learned working with Sylvia over the past many years. She helped me find the root causes of communication conflicts with a diverse group of scientists and sales people so we could all agree to work together more effectively" -Yvonne Cangelosi, President SPEX Certiprep.
Recently seen on the Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda, Sylvia discussed what women can do in the quieter summer months to position themselves for promotion.

The website also gives women an opportunity to join a community of like-minded individuals who want to make themselves, their families, and their work environments the best they can be.

Lafair will offer her newest research and methods for, what she calls "Practicing Safe Stress". She discusses the fact that the biggest and most costly problem in today's workplace are about conflict and related stress.
She offers her OUT Technique™ which gives a roadmap for learning what pushes our buttons and what to do to handle the stress and strain of annoying situations.

The GUTSY Website also has some fun products including a T-shirt saying "It's good to be GUTSY" that makes a super gift for women of all ages.
