The idea came about when DIGGS, the creator, struck a deal with an 80 year old man named Harold with a large number of excess cards in stock. "Harold was stuck with 18,000 decks of cards - a crazy amount. He used to be in the printing business. I think until he sells those cards, he still is!"

These weren't average playing cards, though. Printed on every single card was an image of one of six famous paintings by Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

Arcimboldo was a 16th Century artist, whose portraits of human heads made up of vegetables, plants, fruits, sea creatures and tree roots made him famous among his contemporaries. "They're kinda creepy," DIGGS confided. "It's no wonder people think he (Arcimboldo) might have been deranged."

But that was the inspiration they needed. Matt and his friends had been playing Crazy Eights with these twisted rules for a long time, themselves. But, now they had a set of cards that truly matched the style of the game.

"We decided to package them together," said DIGGS. "'Cause why the hell not?"

The set consists of two decks of cards, along with the rule book and the tale of how the game came to be. The five-day conference will offer a variety of hands-on workshops, case studies, and interactive seminars that focus on forensic video and audio technologies, as well as video production and editing tools.
