Off Lease Only Breaks Records as the Number One Used Car Dealership in Florida

(PRBuzz.com) March 8, 2013 --  Off Lease Only ranks number one in Florida and arguably a top dealer in the entire United States for the most used cars sold, and following weekends like the one that just past, it's no wonder they're beating out other used car dealerships.

Over the course of last weekend, March 2nd and March 3rd, Off Lease Only's Lake Worth location sold an incredible 82 used cars, while the dealership's second location in Miami sold 59 cars. That's a total of 141 vehicles in just two days! Off Lease Only currently owns 28.75% market share in Palm Beach County according to MTC Auto Trac.

Few other used car dealerships would even have an inventory large enough to accommodate sales of this size, however, Off Lease Only consistently stocks hundreds of used vehicles between their two locations. Off Lease Only recently added the second location in Miami to expand their inventory and to be able to offer more quality used vehicles to people throughout Florida and beyond.

Mark Fischer, owner of Off Lease Only, said that his buyers have never been busier, working to keep the two locations stocked with used cars that span virtually every make and model. Digital Artist Benjamin Von Wong Gets Creative with FOR-A's VFC-7000 Variable Frame Rate Camera

Toronto, Canada (PRBuzz.com) March 8, 2013 --  FOR-A Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, announces that Montreal-based photographer and visual engineer Benjamin Von Wong recently used its VFC-7000 HD Variable Frame Rate Camera for two artistic video projects.

When he first laid eyes on the lightweight, compact VFC-7000 camera at a Toronto tradeshow last summer, Von Wong was impressed with the camera's slow motion capabilities. He capitalized on the camera's ability to capture high-speed HD recordings when he later used it to shoot a creative video that focused on his long hair. Von Wong subjected himself to water, eggs, and flour being thrown at his head during a cold night, along with some fire thrown into the mix - all in the name of exciting slow motion footage. He paired FOR-A's VFC-7000 with a LensBaby Composer lens for the video shoot.

"The VFC-7000's functionality was fantastic," said Benjamin. "Other than the FOR-A solution, we didn't use any other extremely high-end equipment for the shoot. We also were dealing with a low-light situation. My team and I even used car lights for lighting part of the video. Even with these challenging circumstances, the camera performed well and exhibited a great deal of sensitivity."

The award-winning VFC-7000 is an all-in-one self-contained camera that offers high-speed play out and recording in full
frame HD at up to 700 frames per second. The unit comes complete with a camera head, main body, an F lens mount and recording component. With its high-sensitivity CMOS color sensor, the VFC-7000 features an electronic high-speed shutter that can operate as fast as 1/200,000 second for filming fast moving events and subjects without blur.

Scott T. Sohr Sells Smyrna Properties to D.R. Horton Inc.

Buyer is among the largest homebuilders in the nation, says Scott T. Sohr.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee  (PRBuzz.com) March 8, 2013 -- Scott T. Sohr, a prominent developer in Nashville, announces the sale of 28 Smyrna-based Woodmont properties to one of the largest homebuilders in the country. D.R. Horton paid $1.4 million for the land, located in a prime area of Smyrna, according to Scott T. Sohr.

As Scott T. Sohr points out, with this purchase D.R. Horton returns to the Nashville housing market after an absence lasting more than 15 years. Based in Texas, D.R. Horton closed nearly 19,000 homes around the country during the course of the previous fiscal year. Noting that D.R. Horton is one of many homebuilders searching middle Tennessee for potential properties, Scott T. Sohr believes this is promising news for the Nashville housing market.

Smyrna has experienced significant growth in the past few years, reports Scott T. Sohr, thanks to the relocation of several major employers to the area. Scott T. Sohr purchased the Woodmont lots several years ago as a joint venture with his business partners, but eventually Scott T. Sohr became the sole owner of the properties. Last year, homebuilding permit requests were up a full 20 percent from the previous year, illustrating the importance of providing lots to those homebuilders who are searching to acquire them.

Scott T. Sohr expects development on the Woodmont properties to begin soon, with homes possibly available as soon as this summer. Prices of the houses, estimates Scott T. Sohr, will begin in the $250,000-range, with five different floor plans available to interested buyers. Because it provides easy interstate access and back roads that lead to heavily-populated areas like Franklin, Scott T. Sohr believes the Woodmont properties will be hot commodities for many homebuyers in the middle Tennessee area.

Following the sale to D.R. Horton, hundreds of Woodmont lots still remain under the ownership of Scott T. Sohr, who has plans to continue developing those properties. As Nashville expands over the coming years and the housing market grows, property developers will need to have lots available for the homebuilders interested in purchasing in the area, according to Scott T. Sohr.

Smyrna's town planner, Kevin Rigsby, echoed the words of Scott T. Sohr when it comes to the growth of the area. He says Smyrna is a growing community that has seen increased activity in recent months. Numerous restaurants, shopping centers, and businesses populate the city, which Scott T. Sohr has found provides residents plenty to do without ever leaving town. And, as Scott T. Sohr points out, the area is close enough to Nashville that residents can make an easy daily commute.

LISC San Diego Announces $60,000 Grant to Kick-start New Neighborhood Market in Greater Logan Heights

(PRBuzz.com) March 8, 2013 -- A new, multi-cultural neighborhood market or "Sobreruedas," spearheaded by Greater Logan Heights residents, has received a $60,000 grant from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation-San Diego(LISC) to support local entrepreneurs and stimulate the community's economy.

The Sobreruedas is the brainchild of neighborhood residents working with Casa de Vecinos Organizados, a resident-organizing group, and the Greater Logan Heights Community Partnership (GLHCP), a collaborative of community based organizations advancing grassroots community development in Greater Logan Heights

The market will feature 22 vendors who reside in nearby neighborhoods. They will sell jewelry, handmade arts/crafts, clothing, fresh produce, drinks and other goods. The market will kickoff March 17 at 10 a.m, on 30th Street and Imperial Avenue. Special guests will include Mayor Bob Filner and San Diego City Councilman David Alvarez. The market will be staged twice a month between March and December 2013.

According to market organizers the goals of the market is to :
• provide an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to earn additional income as vendors
• empower residents to engineer positive change within in their neighborhood and support the growth of the local economy
• create a gathering space where residents can meet and discuss ways to improve the quality of life in their neighborhood

This grant is the sixth in a series of LISC grants benefitting programs designed to create jobs and stimulate economic development, youth education, grassroots community development and entrepreneurship in Greater Logan Heights.

"We believe continued investment in neighborhoods, like the Sobreruedas Neighborhood Market, helps create a vital economic link between communities like Greater Logan Heights and the larger regional economy." said Joe Horiye, executive director of LISC San Diego.

The Greater Logan Heights Community Partnership (GLHCP) is a group of local nonprofit agencies working to unite and strengthen community organizations in Greater Logan Heights by empowering residents and communities to improve quality of life and create a sustainable community. 1700 Retired Military Police Tune in to ''Breaking Iraq''

"Breaking Iraq" focuses on the causes of the chaotic aftermath of the flawless invasion that occurred ten years ago. It offers in narrative form ten lessons for those who would later plan for nation building

The Retired Military Police Review focused on several chapters in the book and posted subject matter from several of the ten mistakes, among them:

• Secretary Rumsfeld's deployment plans did not include an adequate number of military police to control the routes during the ground war, nor sufficient military police to help control the streets after the ground war. This contributed to the Jessica Lynch fiasco and the chaos on the streets of Baghdad.

• Law and Order was not given sufficient attention in the pre-war planning. This failed to provide a police system to provide security to the Iraqi citizenry and to instill a sense of trust in our Army.

• The categories of the thousands of detainees were never clear, causing confusion as to the proper legal treatment. Were they enemy, terrorist, or criminal? What's the difference?

• The process of collecting intelligence from the detainees was flawed from the pre-war planning sessions, during the ground war, and during the subsequent occupation. This set the stage for abuse, including the Abu Ghraib Prison scandal.

Retired U.S. Army Colonel Ted Spain commanded the 18th Military Brigade during and following the invasion. He and the 18th were posted in Baghdad and were central to the severe aftermath. The story is told the way it was including Col. Spain's involvement in the military planning and post- invasion chaos. No excuses. It is history in its truest sense.

Col. Spain co-authored Breaking Iraq with Terry Turchie, a retired official of the FBI. It is to be published by History Publishing Company on March 19 and will be in Barnes and Noble and other fine bookstores. It is now available for pre-order at BN.com and Amazon.com.
