She claimed a top prize of $293,966, which brings her lifetime earnings to about $1.2 million.

A total of 262 poker players put up the $5,000 entry fee to build a prize pool of $1,224,850. Five days of intense action made up the schedule. The final table also included the likes of tough live tournament pros Jonathan Little and Dan O'Brien.
The prize money was the second largest of her poker-playing career. She won the $1,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Seniors Event in 2011 for her first gold bracelet and $603,713.

Renowned French Musician to Perform in Marshall, Texas

(PRBuzz.com) July 18, 2013 -- Gospel music infused with a boogie woogie flare will be center stage in Marshall this Sunday, July 21, when "The Birthplace of Boogie Woogie" presents the Boogie Gospel Jubilee, a marriage of two beloved musical genres.

All the way from Europe, the French pianist, blues and boogie woogie master, Philippe LeJeune, will bring his talents to Marshall and join many of Marshall's finest musical artists for this show. LeJeune, a classically-trained pianist, immersed himself in boogie woogie, but never lost his love for gospel music. He's traveled all over the world, and, because Marshall has been nationally recognized as the birthplace of the boogie woogie style of music, it was only natural that he visit and perform here.

Concert organizer Jack Canson said, "We are thrilled to be able to bring one of the premiere European artists to Marshall. He incorporates four or five genres of music, jazz, gospel, blues and of course boogie woogie. He's thrilling to see perform."

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies Celebrates Historical Birth

Gatlinburg, Tenn; July 18, 2013: ...Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is celebrating the historical birth of an African Black Footed Baby Penguin. This great little bundle of joy came into the earth on May 4, 2013 to the parents of Madonna "Madon" (father) and Tara (mother). The precious penguin weighed in at 57g and now weighs 2000g. The penguin is doing well and is now being monitored around the clock by the experienced Ripley Husbandry team.

"We are so excited about this birth. We have been waiting years for this exciting moment. This is a historical event at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Any birth is a beautiful thing here at the aquarium, but the birth of an endangered animal is truly spectacular. Best of all, this baby is ridiculously cute. Everyone needs to see it," said Ryan DeSear, general manger of Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies.

Every visitor is able to see the baby penguin in the nursery habitat in Penguin Playhouse as part of the tour through the aquarium. The baby penguin is a Must-See and Added Value to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies regular admission.

Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias joins a long list of impressive legal and historical minds who regularly contribute to the Brandeis Center Blog, including Gil Troy, Greg Lukianoff, Alyza Lewin, Harold Brackman, Andre Oboler, Lesley Klaff and Rafael Medoff. Marcus, "Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias is emerging as an important voice in international human rights legal scholarship, especially as it relates to anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli discrimination, and I am excited to welcome yet another truly impressive scholar to the team of bloggers at the Brandeis Center."

As a young legal scholar with an expertise in international human rights law, Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias brings a long and remarkable list of accomplishments to the Brandeis Blog team. After graduating from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, she went on to receive several awards and recognitions. Some of these honors include the 2012 Fellowship of the Foundation for Polish Science for outstanding achievements in science and research, the 2010/2011 Graduate Fellow of the Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of anti-Semitism at Yale University, and the 2010 and 2009 Felix Posen Fellowship for doctoral candidates of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of anti-Semitism of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Currently, Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias works as a Senior Researcher at the Poznan Human Rights Centre, Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. There she has defended her PhD on counteracting anti-Semitism with legal instruments of the international human rights law. Along with this strong background in human rights law, specifically in regards to anti-Semitism, Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias has co-authored and co-edited the first Polish Commentary to the International Covenant on the Civil and Political Rights. She also prepares written analysis and reports for both the Polish Parliament and the European Commission. As if these activities are not preoccupying enough, Dr. Gliszczyńska-Grabias also currently serves as a Vice-President of the "Open Republic" Association against anti-Semitism and Xenophobia, which is a leading Polish NGO focused on counteracting intolerance, hatred and prejudice.

As the Brandeis Center continues to expand, the Brandeis Blog has emerged as an exciting place to find many important voices on anti-Semitism and human rights. With contributors addressing topics from "The Apartheid Slur" to "The Truth About FDR and the Jews" there is much to learn. The blog also serves as a great way to keep updated on the Louis D. Forward Promise aims to vastly expand the potential for boys and young men of color to grow up healthy, obtain a good education, and find meaningful employment.

Frontline Solutions Senior Partner Marcus Littles believes growing national efforts to invest in and support men of color largely result from groundwork laid by BCT Partners and Frontline Solutions. In response to the overwhelming statistics on boys and men of color struggling around employment, education, and health, this past April, more than two dozen foundation and nonprofit leaders including RWJF pledged to take collective action on these issues. FOR-A to Showcase a Variety of its Popular Solutions at SET Broadcast & Cable Show

This year marks the 22nd SET Broadcast & Cable Show, which will take place in São Paulo, Brazil at the Exhibition Centre Immigrants from August 20-22.

One of the highlights of the FOR-A booth will be the FT-ONE 4K variable frame rate camera. The FT-ONE employs FOR-A's "FT1-CMOS" high-sensitivity color sensor and has the ability to record up to 900 frames per second. The camera captures images as uncompressed raw data on the system's internal memory, which has a recording capacity of 9.4 seconds. This data is then stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges, each of which is capable of storing 84 seconds of full 4K resolution images. Since its introduction last year, the FT-ONE has been used for a variety of high-end sports broadcast and digital cinematography applications, including the championship football game earlier this year in New Orleans, professional boxing, rugby, soccer and ice cross downhill competitions.

Another camera that FOR-A will showcase is the FLOVEL FZ-B1 high-sensitivity HD unit. The newest addition to FLOVEL's extensive line of high-end HD specialty cameras, the new FZ-B1 has at its core a 2/3-inch CMOS 1.3 megapixel color image sensor. The compact camera records in 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720p/60p and 720/50p formats and has an unprecedented low-light sensitivity of only 0.01 lux. Superior HD color imagery coupled with low-light sensitivity makes the compact camera ideal for demanding high-resolution applications, such a day/night nature video production.

FOR-A's HVS-390HS compact, cost-effective video switcher will also be shown. The unit includes 16 HD/SD-SDI inputs and eight outputs (expandable to 24 inputs and 13 outputs), with frame synchronizers for all inputs. The HVS-390HS was first introduced last year, with new capabilities recently announced. The new functionality, referred to as a MINI M/E, is an extension of the aux bus system that allows operators to deploy any aux bus transition with cuts, mixes, or wipes, and display a keyer complete with DVE functions. These features are offered as standard in the HVS-390HS.

FOR-A will also show its newest line of video switchers, the HVS-XT100 and HVX-XT110 HD/SD portable units. Shown for the first time in Latin America, the HVS-XT100 comes with a separate main unit and control panel, while the HVS-XT110 features a compact, integrated design.

The award-winning FA-1010 signal processor will also be in FOR-A's booth. With 10 video inputs and outputs, the new FA-1010 offers multi-channel routing between sources as well as effective video and audio signal processing for line, relay, reporting, production, editing, and delivery applications. Providing extreme connectivity and functionality, the unit is referred to as THE Processor. Another signal processor that will displayed by FOR-A is the FA-9520 3G/HD/SD dual channel multipurpose unit. The FA-9520 is suited for a variety of applications, including master control, mobile production, post production services and live production.

Other products to be showcased in FOR-A's booth include the MV-1620HS HD/SD high resolution multi-viewer. The compact (1RU) unit features a customizable layout, audio meter, and title and timer display. The IVS-710HS HD/SD video stabilizer will also be demoed. The unit provides real-time correction of unwanted camera movement and vibrations. FOR-A's lightweight, compact VTW-330HS HD/SD character generator and FRC-30 HD/SD frame rate converter will be showcased as well.
